The Sustainable Darkroom
Super 8 Filming and Bucket Developing
Super 8 Filming and Bucket Developing
In this hands-on workshop, you will learn to shoot and develop a roll of black and white super 8 using homemade plant-based developers.
We will be developing the super 8 using the bucket, or 'spaghetti style' development, where the film is shot and then placed into a Paterson hand tank for developing. This is an easier and more accessible mode of developing super 8 at home than the familiar lomo tanks, and can result in some interesting effects due to the hands on nature of the processing!
The films will be developed as negative, and then projected during the evening social. All cameras and materials will be provided.
The films will also be scanned as digital files and sent to all participants.
When: Friday 27th September, 2.30-6pm.
Where: SET Kensington, 7-17 Ansdell Street, W8 5BN.
Facilities: Large darkroom, large bright teaching room with outside area attached.
