The Sustainable Darkroom invites you to participate in our Slow Photography series, fusing theory and practice, to provide you with a deeper and more critical view of sustainability in photographic and filmmaking practice.
This is a three-part, online workshop taking place over the following Sundays in October and November 2-4PM GMT: 27th, 3rd, and 10th.

Session 1:
Introduction and Preparing Footage
- Includes an introduction to cyanotype as medium, how Edd's practice evolved into animating with alternative photographic process, and animating with cyanotypes. Followed by creating a short 3-5 second animated GIF or video and adapting the footage to be transformed into digital negatives.
Session 2:
Printing Footage
- Includes best practice for printing contact sheets for cyanotype animation, the various methods of coating cyanotypes on paper and how it will affect your animation. Exposing and washing your cyanotypes with sustainable practice in mind.
Session 3:
Digitising and Animating
- Includes how to digitise your footage (difference between scanning and photographing), editing your frames for animation, animating them together using different digital software (free and paid software).
